In order to provide accountability and to ensure the safety and security <strong>of</strong> drugs on the grounds, a<br />

procedure has been developed for employees who have reason to bring prescription drugs to<br />

work or have them on their person.<br />

Procedure From Policy 1200.0237: Staff Medication<br />

A. When it is necessary for an employee to have prescription drugs on his/her person during<br />

his/her tour <strong>of</strong> duty, their supervisor shall be notified and shall in turn notify the Administrator<br />

<strong>of</strong> the situation.<br />

B. The employee, while on duty, shall possess only that amount <strong>of</strong> medication that is required for<br />

his/her tour <strong>of</strong> duty.<br />

C. While in possession <strong>of</strong> prescription drugs while on duty, the employee shall ensure the drugs<br />

are not accessible to other employees and residents.
