THE CHIMNEY-ELF.
LODA sat in the cupola at the top of the
house, reading a book of fairy tales ;
the
Chimney-Elf, who had been for a long
time amusing himself by turning somersets
upon the narrow cornice surrounding
the top of the chimney, had at last grown tired, and
seated himself cross-legged beside the kitchen-flue, up
