Service Description:<br />
The HR Directorate supports the mission, vision and values of the <strong>MPS</strong> by providing an efficient<br />
service-wide HR function, with a clear focus on directly supporting operational policing priorities and<br />
achieving a safer London. The aim of the directorate and the HR function is to attract, retain, motivate<br />
and develop enough competent staff, whilst ensuring they are well managed and are representative<br />
of the community.<br />
Key Activities:<br />
• To achieve an increased representation of the diverse groups of London within the extended<br />
police family of the <strong>MPS</strong>.<br />
• To develop a professional and effective workforce with the appropriate numbers and skills to<br />
deliver the operational priorities of the <strong>MPS</strong>.<br />
• To develop a healthy workforce and safe working practices to enable police officers and police<br />
staff to contribute effectively to operational duties.<br />
• To embed improved quality across HR, thereby allowing the function to increase the level of<br />
quality offered in terms of policies, processes and services to support the growing workforce in<br />
delivering the operational priorities of the <strong>MPS</strong>.<br />
• To develop a dynamic HR function that supports the delivery of the policing priorities of the<br />
<strong>MPS</strong>.<br />
