Network<strong>in</strong>g is a powerful <strong>to</strong>ol <strong>and</strong> generally community organisations are good at<br />
it. Connect<strong>in</strong>g with other people <strong>in</strong> the community is what ‘network<strong>in</strong>g is all about!<br />
It can range from <strong>in</strong>formal chats with colleagues <strong>to</strong> formal meet<strong>in</strong>gs. As networks<br />
are <strong>in</strong>formal <strong>and</strong> fluid, they are quite easy <strong>to</strong> create <strong>and</strong> ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>.<br />
Group activity<br />
1. Divide the group <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> smaller groups <strong>and</strong> ask each group <strong>to</strong> bra<strong>in</strong>s<strong>to</strong>rm what<br />
they th<strong>in</strong>k advocacy is.<br />
2. Give them 10 m<strong>in</strong>utes <strong>and</strong> then ask each group <strong>to</strong> give feedback.<br />
3. Summarise <strong>and</strong> give them the def<strong>in</strong>itions <strong>in</strong> the Learner manual.<br />
