One of the coldest days in Nashville's history -- high temperature topped out<br />

at 7 degrees, with a low of -8, which made a daily mean value of -1. All three<br />

were records.<br />

A cold snap brought record low temperatures to the mid state. Nashville's high<br />

struggled to just 10 degrees after a low temperature of 3.<br />

Temperature at Nashville dropped to -7 degrees during the second coldest<br />

February on record. It was the lowest reading ever observed on this date. The<br />

high temperature topped out at a mere 10 degrees, a record "cool high."<br />

A strong cold front ushered in a blast of arctic air. Nashville's temperature<br />

sank to -2 degrees following the previous day's high of 42.<br />
