New Enquiries for the year 2000
In setting up a new organisation, the Equality Authority
made every effort to track enquiries in relation to the
legislation, the issues involved and the grounds concerned.
Refinements were regularly introduced throughout the year
and by the end of 2000, 9,318 new enquiries had been
logged and tracked within the system.An enquiry can
involve a reasonably simple matter, or can lead to multiple
responses over a period of time within the organisation;
either way it is still only logged as a single new enquiry.The
following is the breakdown of all logged enquiries to the
Equality Authority in 2000.The reasons for non-classification
include an enquirer’s desire for anonymity and pressure of
work.
