Animation / Web Technology 2. Fashion Designing 3. Hotel Management EXAMINATION AND ASSESSMENT MATTERS Academic Evaluation: The evaluation is objective and continuous. Both the scholastic and non‐scholastic achievements of the students are evaluated. In the scholastic category, there are Unit tests, Slip tests, Termend examinations, Preparatory examinations and Annual examinations in all subjects. Grades are given in subjects such as Music, Art, Crafts and Sports. Internal assessment is based on the performance in projects, seminars and assignments. Marks obtained in the tests and internal assessments, sports and general attitude are together considered for promotion. To encourage sports and general attitude, 50 marks assessment has been allotted for each student. The academic year is divided into three KEY STAGES and academic reports are sent to the parents as mentioned below:‐ a) KEY STAGE I Performance in the months of July, August and September b) KEY STAGE II Performance in the months of November, December, January and February. c) Annual Exam Performance in the months of March and April. 18
Promotion Rules: a) Classes IV to VI ‐ Continuous Assessment System is followed. b) Classes VII to X – In accordance with Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation as laid down by CBSE Classes: IV to VI and XI I. Exams ‐ 3 Unit Tests 50 marks each 2 Key Stage and one Annual Exams 100 marks each II. Promotion ‐ On obtaining a minimum of 40% marks in each subject at the end of the year, as per the weightage given below:‐ Unit Tests 20% Key Stage Exams 30% Annual Exams 50% Total 100% Unfair Practice and Plagiarism Unfair practice is defined as committing any act whereby a person may obtain for himself /herself or for another, an undue advantage. This shall apply whether candidates act alone or in conjunction with another/others. An action or actions shall be deemed to fall within this definition whether occurring during, or in relation to, a formal examination, a piece of coursework, or any form of assessment undertaken in pursuit of an academic or professional qualification. Plagiarism is the use without acknowledgement, another person’s work and submitting it for assessment; as though it were your own work. Examples of Unfair Practice: · introduce into an examination room any unauthorized form of materials such as a book, manuscript, data or loose papers, information obtained via an electronic device such as a mobile phone or any source of unauthorized information; · copy from or communicate with any other person in the examination room, except as authorized by an invigilator; · present an examination script as your own work when the script includes material produced by unauthorized means. This includes plagiarism. · Candidates are only allowed to take permitted aids for their examination in to the examination venue. These aids (e.g. pencils, biros) must be carried in a clear and transparent pencil case or “poly pocket” which will be examined on entry to the examination venue. 19
