Seagull Scientific is the developer of BarTender, ® an award-winning software solution for designing and
printing labels, barcodes and RFID tags. The company was founded in 1985, launched their first Windows
products in 1993 and are today the world’s largest developer of Windows drivers for label printers.
BarTender delivers full control of all aspects of label design, including barcodes, text, and a variety of
symbols and graphics. Encoding of RFID “smart labels” is available for most RFID-capable printers.
Available editions interface with supply chain, ERP, and other software using powerful queries, versatile
data access, and ActiveX Automation for remote control. BarTender and Drivers by Seagull are fully

Among new features in version 9.2 is “Librarian,” which stores label formats in a secure
database, controls access, and logs change history. The new stand-alone “Print Station” lets
non-technical users easily select and print label formats without opening BarTender. The new
“Batch Maker” utility supports queuing of multiple print jobs.

Enterprise Licensing is based on the number of printers and supports unlimited network users.

entire printer network and tracks printer media usage and parts inventory. Security Center,
History Explorer and Reprint support local or central database.
• RFID Enterprise: All the capabilities of Enterprise, plus support for RFID “smart labels” on
capable printers.
• Enterprise: Delivers the most powerful label design capabilities and adds automated printing
support. Reads from numerous external databases. Includes Commander middleware utility
to simplify label printing integration. Security Center, History Explorer and Reprint support
local database only. Printer Maestro supports printers visible to local PC.
PC Licensing of Professional and Basic editions is based on the number of PCs.
• Professional: All the design features of Enterprise and most of the data access, but not
controllable from other programs. Includes Printer Maestro and Batch Maker.
• Basic: BarTender’s most important design features, including wizards and easy on-screen
interface, but no external data sourcing or integration.
