The model 7520 Syringe-<br />
Loading Micro Injector is<br />
designed for microbore HP<strong>LC</strong><br />
columns. The standard sample<br />
size is 0.5µL. Accessory<br />
chambers are available for<br />
0.2µL and 1.0µL volumes.<br />
Below is a flow diagram<br />
of the 7520. The needle port<br />
in the inlet stator includes a PTFEneedle seal near the<br />
bottom of the port. A spring keeps the seal compressed<br />
so it grips the needle tip. The volume between the<br />
needle tip and the sample chamber is 0.3µL. This<br />
small volume, as compared to external filler ports,<br />
greatly reduces sample loss. The 7520 valve is rated to<br />
7,000psig maximum. To conserve seal life, the valve is<br />
factory preset to withstand 5,000psig maximum. The<br />
7520 valve accepts any 22 gauge or 22s gauge flat<br />
bottom needle.<br />

The MX Nano-Injector is the ultimate solution for<br />
nano-scale sample injection. It comes with a noninterchangeable<br />
10nL internal sample chamber, and<br />
features Rheodyne’s biocompatible Duralife technology<br />
for greatly extended duty cycles in lab automation.<br />
MX Nano-Valves can be operated either by push<br />
button, allowing them to function as a “manual” valve,<br />
or by contact closure for complete remote control.<br />
By connecting the valve to a single contact closure<br />
(two wires), a sample can be loaded during system<br />
equilibration and injected unattended when the system<br />
is ready. No more waiting for the <strong>LC</strong> ready signal, just<br />
load the sample and forget it.<br />
