Difficult to see how town centre will benefit from new population planned<br />

around fringes.<br />

High quality hotel not needed.<br />

Encourage vibrant modern town tastefully linked to seafront.<br />

Any redevelopment of <strong>Town</strong> Hall Square must include Sainsburys and an<br />

associated car park to maintain balance of town centre convenient with<br />

Ravenside out-of-town retail park.<br />

Car parking in town centre should be reviewed. Suggest need some form<br />

of multi-storey car park - probably as part of Sainsbury’s re-development.<br />

Remainder of town should be metered but seafront should remain free.<br />

Be realistic… <strong>Bexhill</strong> is a seaside residential town and plan accordingly.<br />

Sea Front:<br />

Regeneration of area priority over seafront improvements.<br />

How would seafront improvements be paid for?<br />

Should be a 20 mph speed limit to seafront.<br />

Road junctions should provide for safer pedestrian access across to<br />

seafront.<br />

Housing:<br />

Should be more flexible approach to land supply and development<br />

locations.<br />

Land at west <strong>Bexhill</strong> deliverable without significant new public<br />

infrastructure.<br />

No “Plan B” if no delivery of north-east <strong>Bexhill</strong>.<br />

Extended westward development from link road is not supported and<br />

unlikely to be achievable. Omit it or at least its link to A269.<br />

Need more details about “development west of A269 “(para 6.34)<br />

otherwise omit.<br />

Plans for north and west <strong>Bexhill</strong> would destroy or prejudice green space.<br />
