embraced. Engagement of <strong>Bexhill</strong> 100 Motoring Club and Rowing Club<br />

should be encouraged to develop cultural, historical and social enterprise<br />

in the town<br />

Tourism should be an encouraged as the town has significant culture and<br />

historical heritage to offer visitors.<br />

Opportunities for start up units should be encouraged to promote<br />

enterprise<br />

Incentives should be brought in to encouraged investment in the town.<br />

Calls for improvements to the town centres and shop facades.<br />

The Old <strong>Town</strong> is in a good condition. A strong community spirit amongst<br />

residents keep the condition of the buildings in high regard.<br />

Retailers are struggling in the town to compete with larger centres such as<br />

Hastings and Eastbourne. Local residents are spending money outside<br />

the town.<br />

The lack of parking is a significant issue in the town for retailers and<br />

shoppers.<br />

There is a shortage of low cost housing for young people in the area<br />

The elderly have significant spending power but tended to spend their<br />

There are pockets of deprivation in the town which need addressing. Job<br />

creation should be priority.<br />

local cinema in town was mentioned.<br />

The town should be open to all sections of the communities including<br />

minorities. The Strategy for <strong>Bexhill</strong> should reflect all communities.<br />
