Troubleshooting<br />

If your phone is not performing to your expectations, please try these simple steps first.<br />

Symptom<br />

The charge LED won't illuminate<br />

when the handset is placed in<br />

the cradle.<br />

The audio sounds weak.<br />

Can't make or receive calls.<br />

The handset doesn't ring or<br />

receive a page.<br />

Unavailable appears in<br />

the display.<br />

Suggestion<br />

• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the base or the charger (if you have more than one<br />

handset) and wall outlet.<br />

• Make sure the handset is properly seated in the cradle.<br />

• Make sure the charging contacts on the handset and the base or the charger (if you have more<br />

than one handset) are clean.<br />

• Move the handset and/or base away from metal objects or appliances and try again.<br />

• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.<br />

• Check both ends of the base telephone line cord.<br />

• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the base and wall outlet.<br />

• Disconnect the AC adapter for a few minutes, and then reconnect it.<br />

• De-register the handset (see "De-register the Handset" on page 32) and register the handset<br />

(see “Register the Handset" on page 67).<br />

• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.<br />

• Make sure the line is not in use.<br />

• If an outside call is already established, you can not make another outside call.<br />

• Charge the batteries in the handset for 15-20 hours by placing the handset on the base or<br />

charging cradle.<br />

• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.<br />

• De-register the handset (see "De-register the Handset" on page 32) and register the handset<br />

(see "Register the Handset" on page 67).<br />

• Make sure that another handset(s) or the base is not in use, and try the phone again.<br />

• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.<br />
