International Income Tax
Preparation (IITP) Volunteers
www.sdc.uwo.ca/int/services/index.html?iitp
IITP volunteers are Western students
whose role is to assist international students
(individually or in small groups) and their
spouses/partners with completing their
Canadian Income Tax Forms during the
Income Tax Clinic held in March and April.
In addition to enhancing their cross-cultural
communication skills, IITP volunteers can
benefit from learning how to file their own
taxes and become familiar with international
student tax issues. Training and a Volunteer
Certificate is provided by Canada Revenue
Agency. For more information, please contact
iss@uwo.ca, or visit us at SDC’s International
and Exchange Student Centre in Room 2120,
The IPC program connects new
international (graduate and undergraduate)
students with current Western students called
Peer Guides. Peer Guides are
familiar
with the Western campus and have had a
variety of international and intercultural
experiences of their own. Peer Guides act as
guides, resource people, cultural interpreters
and friendly supports to new international
students during their transition to Western
and Canada. Volunteering as a Peer Guide
is an opportunity to enhance intercultural,
leadership and helping skills as well as
develop international friendships. For more
information, please contact iss@uwo.ca, or
visit us at SDC’s International and Exchange
