Transport to the ICM
By public transport from the City Centre: The ICM is
about 20 minutes from the city centre by underground. The
U2 subway line runs at 10-minute intervals from 05:30 to
24:00. It goes straight to the ICM/New Munich Trade Fair
Centre (“Messestadt West” station).
By public transport from the airport: At Munich Airport,
the station for urban railway lines S1 and S8 is directly below
the Central Area. Trains in the direction of the City Centre run
at 10-minute intervals.
There are three routes from the airport to the ICM:
• S8 / U5 / U2: S8 from the airport to Ostbahnhof. Change
to underground U5 (in the direction of Neuperlach Süd) to
Innsbrucker Ring (next station). Change to U2 to the trade
fair grounds - Messestadt West. Journey time: approx.
45 minutes.
• Route S8 / U2: S8 from the airport to Munich Central
Station (Hauptbahnhof). Change to underground U2 which
takes you directly to the trade fair grounds - Messestadt
West. Journey time: approx. 60 minutes.
• Route S1 / U2: S1 from the airport to Feldmoching
station or Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). Change
to underground U2 which takes you directly to the trade fair
grounds - Messestadt West. Journey time: approx.
65 minutes.
By taxi from the airport: Immediately in front of the terminal
buildings there are taxi stands. The one-way trip takes approximately
35 minutes, depending on traffic. Munich International
Trade Fairs and the Munich Taxi-Owners’ Association have
agreed to a fixed rate of 51 EUR regardless of the time of year.
This offer applies only to the most direct route between the
airport and the trade-fair centre.
By car: The ICM is located directly on the A94 motorway
and can be reached using the “Feldkirchen-West” (Exit No. 6)
or “München-Riem” (Exit No. 5) exits.

Transport in Munich
Munich has an excellent public transport network (MVV). The
system is zone-based and most places are located within the
inner-city white zone, including the congress venue (ICM).
A ticket for public transport for the inner-city white zone in
Munich is included in the delegate registration fee and covers
underground and buses.
Entry into Germany
Any foreign visitor entering Germany must have a valid
passport. For EU-Citizens no visa is required. Visitors from
countries whose citizens require visas should apply to the German
consulate or diplomatic mission in their own country. See

Delegates requiring an official letter of invitation in order to
obtain a visa should contact the congress organisers by email:

Letters of invitation can only be sent after the participation
fee has been paid so please register early and by 11 July at the
latest. Congress fees will be refunded if the delegate is not able
to get the visa.
Language
The official language of the Congress is English.
Climate
The temperature in Munich during September can vary from
8°C to 19°C (46-66 °F) with the possibility of occasional
rain showers.

Currency
The official German currency is the Euro. Traveller´s Cheques
are accepted by all banks and major hotels in principal cities.
Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, department stores,
shops and restaurants. Only the Euro is accepted in regular
stores. All convertible foreign currencies are exchangeable at
all major banks. Business hours of most banks are 9 am - 4 pm
(Mon.-Fri.).
Tipping
In Germany prices include service charge. No tip is required
but most customers usually add about 5% or 10%.
Tax
German Value Added Tax is included in all prices. Currently
this tax is levied at 19%.
