Communications<br />
All German mobile nets are UMTS-supported. GSM phones are<br />
also supported. W-lan is available at several hotspots in the city<br />
and at the congress venue. Many cafes, bars and restaurants<br />
also offer free wireless internet.<br />
Registration Fees<br />
Reduced registration fees are available to:<br />
• Delegates who belong to one of <strong>FISITA</strong>’s 39 national<br />
member societies - check the list on page 17 or visit<br />
www.fisita.com/membership/members to see if you qualify.<br />
• Delegates from non-OECD countries - a list of OECD<br />
countries can be found at www.oecd.org<br />
• Students and Travelling Fellows - see page 60 (limited<br />
places available).<br />
• Speakers and Session Chairs - one speaker per<br />
presentation is entitled to the reduced speaker fee. Paper/<br />
session codes must be specified when registering.<br />

Electricity<br />
Electric current in Germany is without exception AC<br />
230V/50Hz. Sockets only fit round two-pin plugs<br />
(use of adapters is necessary for all devices).<br />

Germany is one hour ahead of GMT, in the summer time<br />
2 hours ahead.<br />

How to Register<br />
Congress participants may choose full registration covering the<br />
whole congress or a 2-Day Ticket valid for any two chosen days.<br />
Visit www.fisita<strong>2008</strong>.com to register on-line or complete the<br />
registration forms on page 62 (one form per delegate please).<br />
Payment Conditions<br />
Payment must be made in full (including all bank charges). Invoices<br />
will be sent by email. Participants from Germany, Austria<br />
and Switzerland can pay by credit card or bank transfer. Participants<br />
from all other countries can pay by credit card only.<br />
Please note that we cannot accept cheques.<br />
Cancellation Policy<br />
Cancellation must be made in writing. In case of cancellation<br />
less than 14 days before the start of the event, the full participation<br />
fee is payable as shown on the invoice. In this case the<br />
Book of Abstracts and CD-ROM will be sent on request. Prior<br />
to this date an administration fee of 60 EUR will be charged.<br />
The incoming mail stamp is decisive for the date of receipt. It is<br />
possible to specify a substitute participant. No cancellation costs<br />
are thereby incurred.<br />
Insurance & Liability<br />
The congress organisers do not take any responsibility for damages<br />
or losses. Delegates are strongly advised to make<br />
their own arrangements in terms of medical, travel and<br />
personal insurance.<br />
Important Information<br />
Letters of invitation for visas: Apply before 11 July.<br />
Social Events: Register before 15 August.<br />
Copies of the congress papers will be collected by theme in<br />
topic-related books and will be available for purchase.<br />
