arranged breakfast meetings with a broad<br />

and björn hägglund, chairman of ivA’s<br />
environmental foresight project, were the key<br />
guests at the breakfast meeting on 16 may.<br />
Björn hägglund argued that sweden is still in<br />
a strong position to take the lead in cleantech<br />
and green projects, but leadership is needed in<br />
industry and from the government and public<br />
organisations. At the meeting Andreas carlgren<br />
emphasised the importance of the government<br />
and industry working together to improve<br />
cleantech exports.<br />

Participants included ulrike rahe, professor<br />
of industrial design at chalmers university of<br />
Technology, who described how various factors<br />
have gained significance since industrialism’s<br />
breakthrough. Also at the meeting was aina<br />
nilsson ström, design director at AB volvo<br />
and recipient of ivA’s gold medal in 2002.<br />
At the breakfast meeting on 11 september,<br />
jan johansson, ceo of the paper group<br />
scA, pointed out that research and increased<br />
knowledge are crucial for the continued expansion<br />
of his company. The company is conducting<br />
research to develop new products to increase<br />
market potential and also to learn more about<br />
foreign markets. knowledge about consumers<br />
in regions such as the middle east and south<br />
America is necessary to succeed.<br />
on 8 october the Business executives council<br />
arranged a breakfast meeting at skf in<br />
gothenburg in cooperation with ivA west. The<br />
keynote speaker was tom johnstone. The<br />
meeting addressed, among other things, skf’s<br />
initiatives in the area of sustainable development<br />
and the company’s international distinctions<br />
and certificates in the field.<br />

presented his visions of the future bank at the<br />
breakfast meeting on 10 october. Another<br />
trend is that bank customers will be increasingly<br />
international and, accordingly, banks are<br />

council arranged a breakfast meeting on the<br />
opportunities that the recession may present<br />
to a large construction company like jm. johan<br />
skoglund, President & ceo of jm was the<br />
keynote speaker and addressed issues such<br />
as how jm is being affected by the financial<br />
crisis and the recession, jm’s commitment to<br />
the environ ment and homes of the future.
