EXPORTEXPORT ExamplesAbbreviation: PRGNOPURGESpecifies that the object is not to be deleted unless the retention period hasexpired.Abbreviation: NPRGTEMPORARY|PERMANENTSpecify whether or not the cluster, alternate index, or catalog to be exported isto be deleted from the original system.TEMPORARYSpecifies that the cluster, alternate index, or catalog is not to be deletedfrom the original system. The object in the original system is marked astemporary to indicate that another copy exists and that the original copycan be replaced.To replace the original copy, a portable copy created by an EXPORTcommand must be imported to the original system. The IMPORTcommand deletes the original copy, defines the new object, and copies thedata from the portable copy into the newly defined object. Portable datasets being loaded by EXPORT must be sequential data sets. VSAM is not avalid data set organization <strong>for</strong> portable data sets.<strong>Catalogs</strong> are exported as TEMPORARY.Be sure to properly protect the file of the temporary object if you want todeny unauthorized access to that file.Abbreviation: TEMPPERMANENTSpecifies that the cluster or alternate index is to be deleted from theoriginal system.
