Giving the catalog name alters attributes defined at thecluster level only. The catalog name is also the data component name.The restricted prefix SYS1.VVDS.V or its generic <strong>for</strong>m SYS1.VVDS.* or SYS1.*.Vis not allowed as an entryname <strong>for</strong> the ALTER command.If you are renaming a member of a non-VSAM partitioned data set, theentryname must given as: pdsname(membername).See the NEWNAME parameter <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation on renaming SMS-manageddata sets.
