Lastly, utilizing both the Ford Fusion power-split HEV components and developed costs,<br />
and the Hyundai Avante lithium polymer battery module (sold domestically in South<br />
Korea) and its developed costs, an incremental cost was developed for a P2 HEV<br />
technology configuration, over a range of vehicle segments. The basic P2 configuration<br />
evaluated, shown in Figure A-3, consists of an integrated electric motor/generator and<br />
hydraulic clutch module positioned between a downsized internal combustion engine<br />
(ICE) and transmission. The electrical power supply/storage system consisted of high<br />
voltage lithium polymer battery pack; voltage and capacity matched to the electric<br />
motor/generator size and vehicle mass. The P2 HEV technology configuration<br />
considered in this analysis was not considered to have a significant all electric range<br />
(AER) capability.<br />
