HODGDON MEMORIAL FUND [1TB019]Established at UNH with gifts from friends, family, former students, and associates of Albion R. Hodgdon, professor and head of the Botany Department.Income will be used to support the work of the Albion R. Hodgdon Herbarium through the acquisition of needed supplies, equipment, books, etc. asdetermined by a Memorial Fund Committee of three Botany Department faculties, including the Curator of the Hodgdon Herbarium, and two others, to beelected annually by the faculty of the Botany Department. Established 1977ALEXANDER P. DANOFF ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TA017]Established at UNH with a gift from the members of the Danoff family. The income to provide financial assistance to full time undergraduate or graduatestudents enrolled at UNH majoring in German. Financial need is not a requirement; the primary criterion is academic excellence. The scholarship fund willbe administered by the UNH Financial Aid Office. A committee consisting of the Coordinator for the German Section acting as Chairman, a GermanSection faculty member selected by the Chairman and the Dean of Liberal Arts or his/her representative, will recommend to the Financial Aid Office thescholarship recipients. This scholarship may be awarded to more than one individual in a given year and there is no requirement that an award be madeevery year. The recipient(s) will be known as the Danoff Scholars. Established 1977ALFRED ERNEST RICHARDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TA139]Gift of Mrs. Alfred E. Richards of Durham as a memorial to her husband, Dr. Alfred E. Richards, Professor of English for 34 years, income is to beawarded, whenever circumstances warrant, to a student majoring in English. Established 1948ALICE M. MITCHELL SCHOLARSHIP [1TU002]Gift of Marion Edwena Mitchell Cutts in memory of her sister, Alice Margarette Mitchell. Income is to be used alternately for scholarships to one or moreneedy students majoring in English or Marine Science. Students must be of outstanding ability and of good character. Awards to be recommended by avote of the professors in the appropriate department. Established 1985ALUMNI CENTER ENDOWMENT [1TG014]Established with a gift from the Class of 1938 in celebration of their 55th reunion. Payments will provide the added financial support required to meet thecontinuing needs of maintenance, renovation, furnishing and expansion of the Elliott Alumni Center. Within this purpose, the intent is not to substitute forcustomary University sources of support from the budget of the University in Durham. The Director of Alumni Affairs, in consultation with the AlumniCenter Building Committee, shall make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association on the annual or longer term use of theavailable income. As recommended within the above purposes, portions or all of the available income could be used each year for financing capital projects.The Director of Alumni Affairs shall have the spending authority for the Fund after the above conditions are met. Established 1996ALUMNI MERIT SERVICE AWARD ASSOCIATION ENDOWED PRIZE [1TG003]Endowment established to provide scholarship assistance of at least $500 to a UNH junior excelling in academics and extra-curricular activities.Recommendation of six recipients will be made by COLA, COLSA, CEPS, and WSBE Deans with final selection by the AMSAA Board. Distribution of funds available each year thereafterwill be made at the discretion of the head football coach in consultation with June Carbonneau, former Assistant Athletic Director at UNH, at the request ofthe Mooradian family. Income to be used to provide financial award incentives to students with an interest in writingscripts for Children's Theatre. Established 1980ANN PAZO MAYBERRY FUND [1TC020]Established to provide tuition assistance to one student of the Graduate Poetry Writing Program who is not a resident of the State of NH. An annual awardwill be made one out-of-state student from the Graduate Poetry Writing Program, with demonstrated ability in writing poetry and potential to furtherdevelop as a writer in poetry. The Graduate English Department and the Financial Aid Office will recommend a formal selection process that reserves thedonor’s right to take part in the selection process, although the donor may choose to waive that right for any given fiscal year. Established 1987DEPARTMENT OF THE ARTS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TC014]Established by gifts from alumni, in particular the alumni of the Department of the Arts; income only will be available to make annual awards. Each yearone or more full-time undergraduate students majoring in the Arts will be chosen. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of high standards and potential inthe field of fine arts; financial need maybe considered, but is not a determining factor. The purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to fulltime, undergraduate studentsenrolled in the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture. Bacon, Class of 1924, established this prize fund to recognize the senior student with the highest proficiency in chemical engineering. Thefaculty of the Department of Chemical Engineering determines an annual recipient for this award. The fund will be administered by the Chairman of theChemical Engineering Department. Established 1979BAILEY PRIZE FUND [1TD026]In an effort to endow the annual prize for proficiency in chemistry, formerly given annually by Dr. C.H. Bailey, '79 of Gardner, Mass., and E.A., Bailey, '85of Keene, NH, since 1888, previous prize winners have contributed to the fund. The income is to be used to perpetuate the Bailey Prize. Established 1931BANK MERIDIAN [1TA023]Originally known as the Hampton National Bank. Income only to be used to provide a $500 scholarship to a student from Winnacunnet High Schoolentering his/her freshman year at UNH. The award is made for two years provided the student maintains a 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale. Award to be based onmerit, though financial need may be considered.
