Income is to be used to provide f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance to potential students <strong>in</strong> the Shoals Program.Established 1981SKI TEAM UNH [1TS010]Established with proceeds from the sale <strong>of</strong> corporate ski passes given by the NH Ski Area Operators Association. This fund is a result <strong>of</strong> a long-st<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>gcommitment by the Ski Area Operators that <strong>in</strong> a state where ski<strong>in</strong>g is a major <strong>in</strong>dustry, the State’s University should have the highest caliber <strong>and</strong> mostcompetitive <strong>in</strong>tercollegiate ski teams possible. The purpose <strong>of</strong> this fund is to provide a permanent support base for the enhancement <strong>of</strong> the University’sIntercollegiate Ski Teams. It is the <strong>in</strong>tention <strong>of</strong> the donors not to replace University support to the teams but to help provide the extra marg<strong>in</strong> <strong>of</strong> flexible fundsthat are necessary to prepare <strong>and</strong> equip competitive ski teams. Pursuant to the donor’s <strong>in</strong>tent, <strong>in</strong>come earned shall not be used for staff salaries. This fund willbe adm<strong>in</strong>istered by the University designated <strong>in</strong>dividual(s) with<strong>in</strong> the Athletic Program who has programmatic, adm<strong>in</strong>istrative, <strong>and</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial responsibilityfor the Ski Teams. It is the <strong>in</strong>tention <strong>of</strong> the donors to build the pr<strong>in</strong>cipal each year with the proceeds realized from the sale <strong>of</strong> five or more corporate skipasses. It is their desire that contributions from the other private sources be solicited by the University to help achieve a goal <strong>of</strong> $150,000 or more. It isunderstood that the <strong>in</strong>come earned on the fund’s assets dur<strong>in</strong>g a fiscal year will not be available for expenditure until the follow<strong>in</strong>g fiscal year. Income onlymay be used <strong>in</strong> support <strong>of</strong> the Intercollegiate Ski Teams, <strong>and</strong> the pr<strong>in</strong>cipal <strong>of</strong> the fund is not to be used for mak<strong>in</strong>g awards. Established 1987SMITH SANBORN LECTURE FUND [1TG009]Bequest <strong>of</strong> Mildred J. Income is to be used to provide lectures at theUniversity. Established 1975SMYTH MEMORIAL PRIZE [1TA146]Bequest <strong>of</strong> Marion C. Smyth <strong>of</strong> Manchester for the purpose <strong>of</strong> establish<strong>in</strong>g a prize <strong>in</strong> elocution or debat<strong>in</strong>g. Established 1947S. P. EDELMAN MEMORIAL AWARD [1TC005]Established with gifts from the family <strong>and</strong> friends <strong>of</strong> Sally Pike Edelman. Income is to be used for awards to UNH students on the basis <strong>of</strong> demonstratedmusical ability. Established 1974STACEY COLE SCHOLARSHIP [1TB046]Income is to be used to provide f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance to NH residents who are full-time 2nd year students at the UNH Thompson School <strong>of</strong> Applied Sciences.Criteria <strong>in</strong> mak<strong>in</strong>g the awards shall be exhibited characteristics <strong>of</strong> motivation <strong>and</strong> promise, moral <strong>in</strong>tegrity <strong>and</strong> a sense <strong>of</strong> citizenship <strong>and</strong> spirit for theThompson School. F<strong>in</strong>ancial need is not a criterion. Established 1987STEPHEN D. DECESARE MEMORIAL [1TA158]Established <strong>in</strong> memory <strong>of</strong> Stephen Decesare, a UNH senior major<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Sports Journalism. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the fund is to provide f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance to fulltime undergraduate sophomores, juniors, or seniors demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial need. The recipient shall be a graduate <strong>of</strong> Salem High School <strong>in</strong> NH.Established 1990STEPHEN W. & HELEN DYER SCHOLARSHIP [1TB032]The purpose <strong>of</strong> this fund is to provide f<strong>in</strong>ancial assistance to a student who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student <strong>in</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Life Sciences<strong>and</strong> Agriculture at UNH. The criteria for mak<strong>in</strong>g this award from <strong>in</strong>come are academic achievement <strong>and</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial need. Established 1980STOLWORTHY FUND [1TD017]Income only is to be used to provide scholarship aid to students <strong>in</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> Physical Sciences. The award is based upon scholasticachievement <strong>and</strong> is to be awarded for the senior year. Athletic achievement <strong>and</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial need are not factors.
