NORTON ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1TA043]The <strong>in</strong>come only to be used annually for some worthy student at UNH, who is a graduate <strong>of</strong> Portsmouth High School, based on student's character <strong>and</strong>promise. Established 1983BLANCHE C. BAILEY FUND [1TC032]Established from the bequest <strong>of</strong> Blanche Bailey with 20% <strong>of</strong> the Blanche Bailey estate. Income from the fund shall be used to provide student aid to bepaid to worthy students who are residents <strong>of</strong> NH <strong>and</strong> who are majors <strong>in</strong> the Music Department. The head <strong>of</strong> the Music Department shall select the student orstudents who shall receive aid. Established 2010BLANCHE D. AND GEORGE L. WHITE FUND [1TA075]Bequest <strong>of</strong> Blanche Dimond White <strong>of</strong> Cambridge, MA, the <strong>in</strong>come is to be used for the benefit <strong>of</strong> any needy female student. Established 1964BLANCHE FOYE NASH LIBRARY FUNDEstablish new USNH endowment. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the ‘Blanche Foye Nash Fund for the UNH Library’ is to provide funds for the purchase <strong>of</strong> children’s <strong>and</strong>other library materials for the UNH Library. This represents a broaden<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> purpose from the orig<strong>in</strong>al Blanche Foye Nash Library Fund. The Dean <strong>of</strong> theUniversity Library will be responsible for all expenditures from this fund. Established 2007"BUNNY" BRYANT BAND SCHOLARSHIP [1TA049]Income only to be used to provide scholarship aid to members <strong>of</strong> the UNH March<strong>in</strong>g B<strong>and</strong>. The award is based upon f<strong>in</strong>anc<strong>in</strong>g need, character <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong> the success <strong>of</strong> the UNH B<strong>and</strong>s. Established 1983CARL & ADA LUNDHOLM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP [1TS003]The Carl J. Lundholm Memorial Scholarship is given <strong>in</strong> memory <strong>of</strong> Carl J. Lundholm <strong>of</strong> the Class <strong>of</strong> 1921 who served UNH <strong>and</strong> its students as teacher <strong>and</strong>coach, <strong>and</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> Physical Education <strong>and</strong> Athletics from 1928 to 1967. Established 1968CARLETON E. MEADER JR. MEMORIAL HOCKEY SCHOLARSHIP [1TS005]Established with gifts from the family <strong>and</strong> friends <strong>of</strong> Carleton E. Meader, Jr. Awards will be made each spr<strong>in</strong>g to eligible Sophomore <strong>and</strong> Junior studentsfor use <strong>in</strong> the follow<strong>in</strong>g academic year. F<strong>in</strong>ancial need is a factor. The Dept. <strong>of</strong> Intercollegiate Athletics, work<strong>in</strong>g with recommendations from the F<strong>in</strong>ancialAid Office, shall select a recipient from the varsity UNH hockey team who displays f<strong>in</strong>ancial need <strong>and</strong> has ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed a grade po<strong>in</strong>t average <strong>of</strong> at least 2.5,with preference given to a student show<strong>in</strong>g high academic excellence. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the this fund is to provide scholarship support <strong>in</strong> the amount <strong>of</strong> $500 each to graduates <strong>of</strong>the Exeter, NH Area High School, enrolled as first-year students <strong>in</strong> the UNH College <strong>of</strong> Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> Physical Sciences. If sufficient funds are available,more than one award may be made to first-year students enrolled <strong>in</strong> CEPS, The criteria for receiv<strong>in</strong>g this award is f<strong>in</strong>ancial need <strong>and</strong> academic achievement.Established 1981CARROLL M. DEGLER FUND [1TE004]Memorial fund established <strong>in</strong> honor <strong>of</strong> this Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Emeritus <strong>of</strong> the Whittemore School by faculty, family <strong>and</strong> friends. The purpose <strong>of</strong> the fund is tosupport a cont<strong>in</strong>u<strong>in</strong>g series <strong>of</strong> lectures <strong>in</strong> bank<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ance. Carroll Degler was a long-time colleague <strong>of</strong> many WSBE faculties <strong>and</strong> was a key part <strong>of</strong> thefoundation on which the Whittemore School was created <strong>and</strong> developed. Established 1982CARTLANDS-OF-LEE SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TA091]Bequest <strong>of</strong> Martha Hale Shackford <strong>of</strong> Wellesley, MA, establish<strong>in</strong>g a scholarship to be called "The Cartl<strong>and</strong>s-<strong>of</strong>-Lee Scholarship Fund". The <strong>in</strong>come is to beused annually as a scholarship for a needy student or for needy students who are engaged <strong>in</strong> the study <strong>of</strong> humanities. Established 1965CEPS ENGINEERING ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP [1TA170]A bequest from William E. Knox, Jr. established this fund. The purpose <strong>of</strong> this fund is to establish a scholarship fund for deserv<strong>in</strong>g eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g studentsfrom NH. Established 1993CHAMPLIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TD002]Fund established with gifts from Mr. & Mrs. W.H. Champl<strong>in</strong>, Jr. <strong>of</strong> Rochester, NH, pr<strong>in</strong>cipal or <strong>in</strong>come or any portion <strong>of</strong> both, to be used to aid studentsmajor<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Mechanical Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g with preference given to those students who show an <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> the study <strong>and</strong> advancements <strong>of</strong> aeronautics. Mr.Champl<strong>in</strong> stated that his <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> aviation at the University stems from close association dur<strong>in</strong>g the Civilian Pilot Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Program <strong>in</strong> 1940-42 withPr<strong>of</strong>essor E. AND FLORENCE WEAST STONE SCHOLARSHIP FUND [1TB028]Established by Charles A. <strong>and</strong> Florence Weast Stone <strong>of</strong> Bow, NH, the <strong>in</strong>come to be awarded to one or more students <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial need who areresidents <strong>of</strong> NH <strong>and</strong> have completed two semesters <strong>in</strong> the College <strong>of</strong> Life Sciences <strong>and</strong> Agriculture major<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Animal Science. Preference will be given tothose students enrolled <strong>in</strong> the Beef Production Program. Established 1975CHARLES A HOPKINS FAMILY FUND [1TA175]<strong>Endowment</strong> established through a bequest from Beatrice B. Hopk<strong>in</strong>s, this fund provides scholarship assistance to worthy UNH students with particularconsideration given to children <strong>of</strong> non-faculty staff members. Established 1994CHARLES H. SANDERS FUND [1TA140]Bequest <strong>of</strong> Charles H. S<strong>and</strong>ers, <strong>of</strong> Penacook, NH, Class <strong>of</strong> 1871, the <strong>in</strong>come to be used as a scholarship <strong>in</strong> memory <strong>of</strong> the first class graduated from theUniversity <strong>in</strong> 1871, consist<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> William P. Ballard <strong>of</strong> Concord, Lewis Perk<strong>in</strong>s <strong>of</strong> Hampton, <strong>and</strong> Charles H. S<strong>and</strong>ers <strong>of</strong> Penacook.
