WVDP Phase 1 CSAP• If a portion of the WMA 12 North area is too wet to conduct a GWS, at most fivesystematic sampling locations will be selected per area to evaluate the presence ofcontamination above CG w requirements.• If sample results from 0-15 cm intervals are above background and there was not a 15cm-1 m sample collected for that location, a 15 cm-1 m sample will be collected andanalyzed.• If sample results for the 15 cm-1 m depth interval are above background, an additionalsample from that location representing the depth interval 1-2 m will be collected and thisprocess repeated until contamination is vertically bounded.• If a surface soil sample indicates contamination above CG w requirements and thatlocation is not bounded either by GWS data that indicate conditions are clearly belowCG w requirements or other surface soil sample locations that indicate activityconcentrations below CG w requirements, then additional surface soil sampling locationswill be selected to bound the contamination encountered.K.10 ReferencesDOE 2009.
