WVDP Phase 1 CSAPField notebooks will be maintained and used to identify (at a minimum) for each round of datacollection the following: date, crew member names, survey instruments used including serialnumbers as appropriate, data collection purpose, information pertinent to the quality of coordinateinformation, and supplemental descriptive data as appropriate (e.g., descriptive text, sketches, andthe like).Data sets that include spatial coordinates will be delivered electronically in a manner that clearlylinks site features with their coordinates, that specifies the method for obtaining coordinates, thattime-stamps coordinates (as appropriate), and that describes the level of accuracy associated withthe coordinate data. All delivered data sets will include documentation that the surveyingperformance requirements as specified in associated task orders were met.A variety of surveying methods can potentially be used for determining coordinate informationfor site features. These include (but are not limited to) total stations (robotic or manuallyoperated), differentially corrected GPS, kinematic and real-time kinematic GPS, and terrestrialLight Detection and Ranging (LIDAR). The appropriate technology selection will depend on theaccuracy needs associated with specific task orders, logistical parameters (i.e., presence ofinterfering tree cover, line-of-sight issues, and so on), and cost. Surveying requirementsspecifications will be performance based with the expectation that contractors will deploy themost appropriate technology meeting those performance requirements given the context of thework to be done.Rev. 1 68
