I s s u e N o . 5 P a g e 9Western YAC LaunchOn Friday, 21st September, the last day ofTerm 2, 6 of our Year 11 students and agroup from our Sydenham Campusattended the Western YAC Launch atTaylors Hill Community and YouthCentre. The Delahey students were SophiaDemertzis, Claudia Ralevski, MehakSheikh, Olympia Apostolidis, SundipDhaliwal and Dylan D’Roza.YAC stands for Youth AdvisoryCommittee. Local Member of Parliament,Natalie Hutchings, had issued theinvitation. Students browsed the displaytables for youth friendly information abouta range of services they can utilize. Theyenjoyed networking with the other schoolsrepresented there and partook of the foodand snacks provided. They heard from arange of speakers about the work of theState and local Youth AdvisoryCommittees. These included MsHutchings, Mayor, Justin Mammarella,and Police Youth Liason Officer, MarkZerafa. Two of our attendees, Sophia andDylan, delighted the gathering byvolunteering to participate in somehilarious impromptu “public-speaking”about some domestic objects, an activityfacilitated by some youth workers fromProject Rocket.
