U – LED modules, converters and systemsAppendixAdditional conditions for magnetic ballastsof fluorescent lampsIn case of extreme conditions (stuck starter) theincreased temperature on the ballast will lead to areduced lifetime, if failed components are not replacedwithin a short time. The guarantee conditions thereforeonly apply upon use in combination with safety startersor proof of immediate lamp and starter replacement.4. Execution of the guaranteeIn the event of failures exceeding the nominal failurerate, Tridonic on its sole discretion might decideto repair defective components or products, supplyadequate products as replacement or reimburseproducts to original customers. The customers orend customers bear the costs for demounting andremounting as well as for sending in and returningproducts. Any other costs, e.g. replacement costsupon installation, costs caused from failures of theinstallation or other damage and/or consequentialdamage are not covered by this guarantee.The indicated lifetime is achieved by operating lightingcomponents according to the conditions specifiedby the manufacturers, to the relevant internationalstandards and in accordance with local regulations.All electronic products having an expected failure raterequire continuous monitoring, which must be documentedin writing.In view of the statistical failure rate of electronic products,installations with electronic operating devicesand LED light sources require regular maintenance.The products must therefore be easy to access at alltimes. When installing the products, the requirementsof easy maintenance must therefore be taken intoconsideration to keep maintenance costs down.If simplereplacement is not carried out in good time,the end customer must be informed of the additionalcosts that may arise in connection with standardmaintenance. In designing and installing luminaries,it should be remembered that the controller, ballastand/or LED light source may have to be replacedbefore the luminaire comes to the end of its life.Additional Information for LED modulesThe guarantee conditions relate exclusively to mortalitybeyond the nominal failure rate. In view of technicaladvances and the changes in the luminous fluxof products depending on their usage there may bedifferences in the photometric properties betweenreplacement or additional LED modules and the originalproducts.5. Utilisation of the GuaranteeThe guarantee has to be claimed immediatelyby returning the defective product in order to checkthe validity of the claim.6.
