cablex: professionals in network construction
Since October 1, 2001 cablex AG, a fully-owned subsidiary of Swisscom
Fixnet, with a workforce of around 700, has been responsible for the
nationwide construction and maintenance of Swisscom’s cable networks.
Network construction is not a Swisscom core business. The company
is currently reviewing a number of options in the direction of a
partnership or sale.
Telecom FL: basic service provider in Liechtenstein
In line with the Group strategy, Telecom FL AG became a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Swisscom Fixnet AG. As basic service provider in the Principality
of Liechtenstein, Telecom FL offers the full portfolio of voice,
mobile, data and Internet services. With 47 employees, the company
generated revenue of CHF 49.2 million in 2002. The role of Telecom FL
AG is currently defined as that of full-service provider. While its position
as market leader in basic service provision is assured, it faces
strong competition in the market for value-added services, above all
in Internet access. The Liechtenstein government intends to strengthen
cooperation with Swisscom. Provided it is permitted by the regulator,
Telecom FL AG will therefore continue to have a strong interest in the
lucrative Liechtenstein market, and aims to exploit potential synergies
with Swisscom to the full.
Swisscom Directories: valuable data source
Swisscom Directories AG, one of the leading producers of telephone
directories in Switzerland, manages six million residential and business
entries in various directories in Switzerland and the Principality of
Liechtenstein: the traditional telephone directory (comprising 25 volumes),
telinfo (CD-ROM), swissinfo (DVD), the electronic telephone directory
(ETV) and the Internet directories www.theyellowpages.ch and
www.whitepages.ch.
