EASTERN CAPE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION 2007/085 Enterprise Development Services achievements During 2007/08• Training of SMMEs in Quality Management and Occupational Health Systems comprising:o ISO 9000 (30 entities) and ISO 22 000 (16 entities)o OHSAS (35 entities)• 54 Emerging Contractors successfully completed the final phase of the Integrated Emerging Contractor DevelopmentModel training programme, which was supported by 15 mentors who were in turn developed by ECDC through amentorship training programme with the University of the Free State (UFS);• Partnered with the DTI on the Arts & Craft Export Programme;• Implementing Agent for the Provincial Craft Hub with the DTI;• 65% increase in the number of SMME interventions as compared to last year;• 1 907 businesses registered with CIPRO through ECDC;• Non-financial support to AB350 and bus operators, which was subsequently launched in March 2008;• Piloted a business outreach programme (Siyahlwayela) in partnership with COMSEC targeting Makana and NelsonMandela Metropolitan Municipalities.45
