MySpace, their license?
Die beliebte Web-Plattform MySpace
ist in die Diskussion geraten. Wer seine
Musik, Kunst, Bilder ... darüber ins
Web stellt, so steht es im Kleingedruckten,
gibt alle Rechte an MySpace ab
- und damit an Medienmogul Rupert
Murdoch. Sänger Billy Bragg protestiert
dagegen und hat seine Songs offline
gesetzt. Laut Medienberichten betont
MySpace aber, kein Interesse an solchen
Rechten zu haben. Eine ähnliche
Klausel gibt es übrigens auch bei der
Chatsoftware ICQ.
Be warned, by sharing files via
MySpace you give away your licensing

recently. Written in the small print
somewhere under their terms and
conditions, MySpace says that once
an artist posts any content online, it
then belongs to MySpace (aka Rupert
Murdoch). English Singer Billy Bragg
found out about this and now keeps
his songs offline. Similar rules apply to
the chat software ICQ.
According to media reports, a spokesman
from MySpace has meanwhile
stated, that the company would not
be interested in the rights of anything

CzechTek legalised

Free-Techno-Festival CzechTek zu

against the free Techno festival Czech-
Tek at which more than 100 people
were injured, it has this year received
legal approval. From 27 to 30 July the
free festival will be celebrated at a
former military site near Radnice in the
Czech Republic. Now the people from
the region have protested: they expect
the event to bring a significant increase
