With »Daily Basis«, Flow delivers a top notch
progressive compilation somewhere between
Trance and House. Pena‘s CD will become
your daily companion. Echotek starts with a
Psy/Prog stomp after which Flying Rhino‘s
former head-honcho James Monro, today an
ambassador of Deep Prog House in Brazil,
serves a minimal twist of Atmos‘ grooves
updated with a wave of 80ies influences. You
also get true Electro House from Rob Mooney
and Fusi & Johnson with a rolling bassli-
ne as well as some somewhat more hypnotic
trance from Lunaspice and True To Nature.
But the best tracks - surprise, surprise - are
by Iboga‘s new dreamteam Yuli and Banel
aka Perfect Stranger vs Behind Blue Eyes and
Manuel Duego. Good Prog comps are rare,
so get it as soon as you can. (kai)

Auf Yeti kamen die ersten Sachen, dann gab
es unzählige Remixe und jetzt ein Album.
Grundsätzlich kann man es als Trance
bezeichnen, schon progressiver, aber man
muss ganz klar ein Freund oder eine Freundin
weiblicher Vocals sein, denn diese findet
man in fast jedem Track. Er hat viel mit Kirsty
Hawkshaw, die
ich sehr schätze,
zusammengearbeit.
Dennoch ist
das auf 14 Stück
verteilt eine geballte
Ladung und ich
denke man fährt
gut, wenn man
sich ab und an ein paar Songs rauspickt,
dann gibt es auch keinen Overkill.
The first things came out on Yeti, then there
were innumerable remixes and now an
album. Strictly speaking, you could call this
Trance, somewhat more progressive, but
one has to be a fan of female vocals as they
are on nearly every track. He‘s done a lot
of work with Kirsty Hawkshaw for whom I
have a lot of respect, nevertheless this 14
piece collection presents a cumulative affair,
and I think it‘s best to just listen to a couple
of tracks at a time, that way there won‘t be
any overkill. (baq)

»Metabasis« (Flow) CD
Musiker, die einen eigenen Weg aus
weicher Bewegung und assoziativen Soundlandschaften
finden, sind wirklich selten.
Vor einiger Zeit hat Flow ein fantastisches
Album einer polnischen Band names Aural
Planet veröffentlicht. Radoslaw Kochman
hat jetzt ein neues Projekt daraus entwickelt,
zwar in der Tradition von Aural Planet,
aber mit neuen Partnern, um neue Ebenen
zu erobern. Zusammen mit Daniel Lulkowsky
hat er Sundial im Herbst 2005 gegründet,
zwei weitere Freaks kamen hinzu. »Metabasis«
ist ein ernsthaftes Manifest, aufrichtig
wie ein religiöse Erfahrung, ein Flug vom
erdigem Grund zu äußeren Räumen,
eine Entscheidung für die Schönheit des
Daseins und den Gedanken daran. Es ist ein
Geschenk. Und du wärst ein Dummkopf,
wenn du es nicht annehmen würdest.
There aren‘t many musicians with their own
method of creating such an outstanding
blend of soft movements and beautiful
soundscapes. Some time ago Flow records
released a fantastic album by Polish act Aural
Planet and one of its members, Radoslaw
Kochman has now formed a new project.
Following on in the tradition of Aural Planet,
but with new partners with which to cover
new grounds: Radoslaw teamed up with
Daniel Lulkowsky and started »Sundial« in
late 2005. Two more freaks have since joined
the Sundial ensemble to complete their first
album. »Metabasis« is a serious manifesto,
as clear as a religious experience, a flight
from terrestrial grounds to outer spaces, a
proclamation of the beauty of existence and
the thoughts that go with it. It‘s a gift. You‘d
be an idiot not to try it. (kai)

»In Search of Sunrise 5« (Black
Hole) 2CD
Der Superstar des Trance - einen Überblick
seines Sounds verschafft Tiesto uns mit seiner
bekannten „In Search of Sunrise“ Serie,
Version fünf. Und man lese und staune: diese
CDs sind weit entfernt von dem üblichen
Hardtrance. Natürlich sind auch ein paar
kitschigere Tracks dabei, grade auf der ersten
CD, doch dann findet man plötzlich altbekannte
progressive Sounds. Way Out West,
Ozgür Can oder Petter, um einige zu nennen,
machen Tiesto wieder sehr hörbar, auch
wenn ein wenig der rote Faden fehlt.
The Superstar of Trance does it again. Tiesto
provides us with an overview of his sounds
with his well-known »In Search of Sunrise«
series, currently at version 5. And one reads
and gasps, these CDs are a long way from
horrible Hard-Trance. Of course there‘s a few
kitschy tracks, especially on the first CD, put
amongst them you‘ll find some well known
progressive sounds. Way Out West, Ozgür
Can and Petter to name but a few, are once
again made listenable, even if they do lack
any real continuity or togetherness. (baq)
