Ein sehr beliebtes, vielgenutztes und
schnell erlernbares Live-Performance und
Mixing-Tool ist Resolume. Bis zu 160 Clips
kann man hier vorladen und in drei Layern übereinanderlegen.
Diese drei lassen sich getrennt voneinander
mit unzähligen Effekten belegen, vor- und
rückwärts abspielen, loopen, verschieden schnell darstellen
und unterschiedlich stark einblenden. Steuerbar
ist es neben Maus und Tastatur
über jegliches Midi-Gerät oder über
den hauseigenen, extra dafür designten
Controller ReACT. Zusätzlich
werden über die Webseite verschiedene
Clip-Packages angeboten.

Flowmotion
Robotfunks VJ-Software hat
einen ähnlichen Ansatz wie
Resolume. In einen Vorschaubereich
kann man sich
Clips einladen, die über fünf
interne Monitore abspiel- und mixbar sind. Jeder einzelne
Monitor läuft autark, kann jeweils mit Effekten
belegt werden, und alle sind je nach Wunsch auf dem
Ausgabemonitor anzeigbar. Auch hier kann man, wenn
die Hand an der Maus lahmt, auf ein beliebiges Midisteuergerät
zurückgreifen und über die gleiche Schnittstelle
das Bild mit dem Ton synchronisieren. Bei keinem
dieser Programme darf man vergessen, dass sowas sehr
rechenintensiv ist. Ein schneller Rechner mit viel Arbeitsspeicher
ist immer Vorraussetzung. Preis: 135 Euro.
Robotfunks VJ software works in a similar fashion to
Resolume. You can load clips into the preview area
and then play and/or mix them using 5 separate internal
monitors. Each monitor runs independently of the
others and once you‘ve tweaked them with the various
FX, you can then choose which ones to blend into your
main presentation. Once again, should a mouse feel
too restrictive for you, you can use most midi controllers
to manipulate your work including synchronising
the video with the sound. One thing you‘ve got to bare
in mind is that all these programs are very resourcehungry.
A fast processor with lots of memory is essential.
Price: 135 euros.

VJamm
Der dritte im Bunde ist VJamm vom englischen Hersteller
Camart. Im Aufbau etwas anders, aber vom Grundmodell
die gleiche Kategorie. 16 Clips können unabhänging
voneinander bearbeitet werden, eine große Auswahl an
Effekten steht zur Verfügung, und Midi sowie Beatsync
sind natürlich auch an Board. Aufgebaut sind dieses Tools
so, dass man gleich loslegen kann. Die Feinheiten stecken
im Detail, man kann Wochen damit verbringen, immer
neue Dinge zu entdecken und der Spaß an der Sache
lässt einen nicht so schnell wieder los. Preise: Vjamm 3
50 englische Pfund, Vjamm Pro 299 Pfund.

straight away but, the more time you spend discovering
the many functions and playing with your creations, the
more you start to appreciate the finer details and once
