5.24 The activities were compared to the NICE Guidance/Scottish Perspectiverecommendations to establish where there was concordance and where thesuggested activities were at odds with these.5.25 Three situations arose:1. Consensus was reached between practitioner opinion and NICE/ScottishPerspective recommendations.2. Practitioner opinion on a particular action or intervention was identified which wasnot included in the NICE Guidance/Scottish Perspective recommendations. Inthis case it was agreed that further searching of the evidence base could be doneand/or evaluation of current practice or piloting of a particular activity which wouldcontribute to gathering an evidence base.3. If an activity/intervention recommended by NICE Guidance/Scottish Perspectivewas not identified by practitioners, they were asked to consider whether theactivity should be included because it was plausible, practical or achievable.5.26 The activities and the rationale underpinning each are presented in thesupporting document to the Framework ‘Rationale supporting the Maternal andInfant Nutrition Action Plan activities’.
