Buildable area: The area of a lot remaining after the minimum yard and open space requirements of thezoning ordinance has been met.Building: any permanent or temporary structure, with a roof built for support, shelter, or enclosure forany occupancy or storage.Building area: the area included within surrounding exterior walls (or exterior walls and fire walls)exclusive of vent shafts and courts. Areas of the building not provided with surrounding walls shall beincluded in the building areas if such areas are included within the horizontal projection of the roof orfloor above.Building frontage: linear length of a building facing the right-of-way.Building height: vertical distance from a horizontal plane established at the average ground elevationaround the perimeter of the building, and the horizontal plane through: a) the highest point of the roofassembly or parapet, whichever is greater, in the case of a building with a flat roof; or b) to the deck lineof a mansard roof; or c) the average level between the eaves and ridges for gable, hip, gambrel, and otherroof types; or, of no roof, to the highest point of any structure.Ordinance No. 04-2012 Adopted June 4, 2012 Page 9 LDC Section 70-30
