Marquee: canopy projecting over an entrance. A canopy or marquee is not an integral part <strong>of</strong> the ro<strong>of</strong> butrather is appended to the building and extends beyond the building or building line.Marquee sign: sign attached to, hung from, supported from or forming a part <strong>of</strong> a canopy or marquee.Master development sign: a sign designating a multi-parceled plat, PUD, or DRI that is intended to bedeveloped in separate zoning lot parcels.Mean high water: the average height <strong>of</strong> the high waters over a 19-year period. For shorter periods <strong>of</strong>observation, "mean high water" means the average height <strong>of</strong> the high waters after corrections are appliedto eliminate known variations and to reduce the result to the equivalent <strong>of</strong> a mean 19-year value.Mean Sea Level: The average height <strong>of</strong> the sea for all stages <strong>of</strong> the tide. It is used as a reference forestablishing various elevations within the floodplain. For purposes <strong>of</strong> this ordinance, the term issynonymous with National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) <strong>of</strong> 1929, or North American VerticalDatum (NAVD) <strong>of</strong> 1988.Medical <strong>of</strong>fice/clinic: includes medical and dental clinics; dental laboratories; dental <strong>of</strong>fices and clinics;medical and dental <strong>of</strong>fices and clinics; medical examiner facilities; veterinarian <strong>of</strong>fice and veterinaryclinics.Membership sign: A sign identifying affiliation with a travel club, business association, credit cardcompany, or pr<strong>of</strong>essional association.Memorial sign: A permanent sign, plaque, inscription or similar group <strong>of</strong> symbols recording historicaldata relating to the construction <strong>of</strong> the building to which it is affixed.Mining: the removal <strong>of</strong> natural resources from the earth by means <strong>of</strong> digging, drilling or stripping.Mini-warehouse: an enclosed storage area containing individually rented or owned compartments orstalls for storage only.Mitigation (environmental): environmental actions including, but not limited to, restoration,enhancement, creation <strong>of</strong> wetlands, removal or restoration <strong>of</strong> wetland buffers, flood plains, tree removaland/or tree replacement, or state and federal protected species, required to be taken by a person to <strong>of</strong>fsetenvironmental impacts <strong>of</strong> permitted and/or unpermitted activities.Mitigation (traffic): special actions, programs and procedures intended to reduce, redistribute, modify thetraffic impact on the thoroughfare system and/or increase capacity to the thoroughfare system by usingpr<strong>of</strong>essionally accepted standards and methods.Mobile home: dwelling, manufactured; dwelling, mobile home; mobile home park; mobile home space;mobile home subdivision; <strong>Florida</strong> DCA-approved manufactured dwelling; and trailer.Mobile home dwelling: single-family structure fabricated in a manufacturing facility, having a width <strong>of</strong>more than 8 1/2 feet and a length <strong>of</strong> more than 40 feet, and bearing a seal certifying it is constructed eitherto the Federal Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards Code or to obsolete ANSI 119.1Mobile Home Design and Construction Standards.Mobile home park: area <strong>of</strong> land under one ownership where designated spaces for mobile homedwellings are rented. The overall operation is managed on a full- or part-time basis and provides variousservices and facilities for common use.Mobile home space: an improved area within an approved mobile home park, designated for theplacement <strong>of</strong> only one mobile home dwelling.Mobile home subdivision: approved subdivision with lots for sale as residential sites for mobile homedwellings.<strong>Ordinance</strong> No. <strong>04</strong>-<strong>2012</strong> <strong>Adopted</strong> June 4, <strong>2012</strong> Page 42 LDC Section 70-30
