GLOSSARYFollowing are brief descriptions of terms and features used herein that may be unfamiliar to you. Some of the features areprogrammable options that may or may not apply to your particular system.Abort Delay: A delay period thatallows the control panel to bereset, thus aborting a report to acentral station.Access Code: A code (up to 6digits) used to remotely unlock adoor.Ambush Code: A 2-digit codeentered just prior to the UserCode when forced to disarm.Sends a silent alarm to thecentral station with no indicationat the keypad.Area: Some systems may bedivided, or partitioned, intosmaller independentsubsystems, which are referredto as Areas. Each Area may becontrolled by its own keypad orby a keypad of a different Areathrough Managers Mode.Arming/Disarming - Turning thesystem on/off by entering yourcode at the keypad, thenpressing J.Battery - Backup power source inthe control-panel enclosure toprovide protection in the eventof a power failure.BPASS Button - Enables you tomanually remove one or moreprotective zones from thesystem.Central Station - Monitors incomingreports and emergencymessages from a digitalcommunicator and notifies theproper authorities.Chime: A keypad beep whiledisarmed alerting that theprogrammed zone has beenopened.Closing Window: (Optional.) Atime interval within whichclosing (arming) is permittedwithout reporting to the centralstation.Communicator: Reportsintrusions, emergencies,openings, closings, etc. directlyto the central station overtelephone lines.Control Panel: The brain of thesystem, it controls all systemfunctions.Directory: A listing of theprogrammed zone descriptionsstored in memory.Easy Arming: Quick arming bypressingJ (optional).29
