向 可 持 續 生 活 進 發我們 每 人 都 是 消 費 者 。 不 過 , 如 果 我 們 耗 用 的 自 然 資 源得 不 到 補 充 , 便 不 能 滿 足 我 們 未 來 的 需 求 。 的 確 , 我們 在 日 常 生 活 中 使 用 的 一 切 , 均 需 耗 用 大 量 的 自 然 資源 , 而 港 人 耗 用 自 然 資 源 的 情 況 尤 其 嚴 重 。 如 果 世 界 上 每 一 個 人的 資 源 耗 用 量 與 港 人 一 樣 , 我 們 便 需 要 兩 個 地 球 的 自 然 資 源 , 方能 滿 足 所 有 人 的 需 求 。過 去 數 十 年 , 人 口 激 增 、 經 濟 迅 速 發 展 , 均 為 生 態 系 統 帶 來 沉重 負 擔 。 人 類 對 食 物 、 燃 料 及 其 他 貨 品 需 求 不 斷 提 升 , 程 度 更 遠 遠超 出 地 球 能 持 續 供 應 資 源 的 速 度 。 生 態 系 統 的 一 些 部 分 , 包 括 全 球眾 多 的 主 要 食 用 魚 類 品 種 , 已 瀕 臨 絕 種 邊 緣 , 但 我 們 的 海 鮮 食 用 量卻 有 增 無 減 。世 界 自 然 基 金 會 一 直 致 力 推 廣 可 持 續 生 活 模 式 , 讓 市 民 了 解 不符 合 可 持 續 原 則 的 資 源 消 耗 習 慣 所 構 成 的 危 機 , 同 時 透 過 教 育 項目 、 企 業 參 與 及 公 眾 活 動 , 提 倡 以 可 持 續 方 式 獲 取 資 源 , 以 減 低 對自 然 資 源 的 需 求 。環 保 海 鮮兩 年 來 , 本 會 在 JNC Nature Fund 的 贊 助 下 , 得 以 順 利 推 行 「 海 鮮 選擇 大 行 動 」, 並 推 廣 可 持 續 飲 食 習 慣 。 為 鼓 勵 市 民 食 用 以 可 持 續 方 式捕 撈 或 養 殖 的 海 鮮 , 本 會 推 出 首 個 為 香 港 度 身 訂 造 的 《 海 鮮 選 擇 指引 》, 列 明 香 港 常 見 的 海 鮮 品 種 , 並 提 供 指 引 , 方 便 市 民 參 照 建 議 ,選 購 環 保 海 鮮 。 同 時 ,《 海 鮮 選 擇 指 引 》 更 有 助 向 本 港 消 費 者 , 推 廣以 可 持 續 方 式 捕 撈 或 養 殖 , 及 經 由 海 洋 管 理 委 員 會 (MSC) 認 證 的海 鮮 產 品 。去 年 , 多 家 本 地 企 業 在 公 司 宴 會 中 採 用 本 會 的 《 海 鮮 選 擇 指 引 》,顯 示 指 引 得 到 社 會 的 認 同 。 本 會 舉 辦 三 個 環 保 海 鮮 講 座 後 , 有 五 家 大型 企 業 響 應 , 在 安 排 公 司 宴 會 時 , 遵 從 《 海 鮮 選 擇 指 引 》 的 建 議 。 這 些企 業 包 括 : 時 富 投 資 集 團 有 限 公 司 、 太 古 地 產 、 金 門 建 築 有 限 公 司 、Working for sustainabilityWe are all consumers. But the natural resources weconsume in our lives need to be replenished so thattomorrow we’ll have the same resources to providefor our future needs. And it takes truly massive quantities ofnatural resources to produce everything that we use in our dailylives – especially in the case of Hong Kong residents. If everyperson in the world consumed resources at the rate individualsdo in Hong Kong, we would need two Earths to meet ourdemand for natural resources.The surge in human population and economic activities inrecent decades has taxed our planet’s ecosystem. Our demandfor more food, more fuel, and other commodities has grown tothe point that it far outstrips nature’s ability to replenish theseresources. Some parts of our ecosystem – including many of theworld’s most important commercial fish species – are on the brinkof collapse, yet our consumption continues to grow.WWF is committed to raising awareness about the dangersposed by our unsustainable consumption habits. Througheducation programmes, corporate engagement and public events,WWF aims to reduce the demand for natural resources andencourage a shift towards sustainable sourcing.Sustainable seafoodThanks to a two-year sponsorship by JNC Nature Fund, theWWF Seafood Choice Initiative continued to spread themessage of sustainable eating habits.
