Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd also assisted WWF byassigning two project managers on a pro bono basis to overseethe early stages of internal redecoration.The government’s Food & Health Bureau and the Agriculture,Fisheries and Conservation Department were also instrumentalin helping secure funding from The Hong Kong Jockey ClubCharities Trust, as well as helping with the design of the centreand its functionality. And of course, numerous individualdonations went into completing the centre.With the centre fully operational, the focus is now on tofurther expanding its capabilities and services. In addition tocontinuing the vital task of educating the public about marineconservation, WWF plans to develop it as a training hub fornatural marine resources management and education.Success on the seaWe have seen some stunning successes this past year in ourmarine conservation efforts, and as we look to the comingyear, we hope to build on this momentum to achieve evenmore. The SOS campaign continues as we work to get no-takezones established, put a stop to trawling and regulate localfishing vessels. At Hoi Ha Wan, we are excited about the newopportunities at the centre and will continue to expand andenlarge the facility’s programmes to make best use of such aunique resource.We owe our successes to the many thousands of people whohave contributed their time, money and efforts to our cause andshare our vision for the amazing asset that a healthy sea would be.Both individuals and corporations have shown incredible supportfor WWF this past year and it has resulted in some equally bigaccomplishments.
