Emergency operation unit:The emergency operation control system– Em – is conceived as a simple enginespeed and gearbox control system whichenables safe continuation of a trip in theevent of a failure in the electrical controllever system.The operating unit for the emergencyoperation control system is integrated preferablynear the control lever in the bridgecontrol console. For safe ship operation,the keys on the front must be easily accessible.When the ignition is on, emergencyoperation can be activated using thecorresponding function keys.
