Should parents want to consult any member or members of staff on the progress of their children at any time<br />

during the school year, they are welcome to do so and should contact the School office so that a convenient<br />

time may be organized with the tutor or teacher. If you need a translator, please inform Reception in advance.<br />

7.0 GENERAL RULES<br />

7.1 Standards<br />

A high standard of conduct and good manners is expected of all students both in and out of school. A breach<br />

of good manners or common sense and any conduct liable to lower the reputation of the school will be treated<br />

as breach of the school rules. Our standards are supported by a clearly defined system of rewards and<br />

sanctions. We wish to emphasise the value of positive contribution of every student, and create a Can-Do<br />

ambience within our school.<br />

Particular attention must be paid to personal appearance and to coming to class prepared.<br />

The possession, bringing into school or use of explosives, firearms, fireworks, catapults, knives, alcoholic<br />

drinks, smoking materials, drugs or other harmful substances is forbidden. Possession of any of the above<br />

mentioned items will lead to expulsion.<br />

7.2 Anti Bullying Policy<br />

The school is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our students so they can<br />

learn in a pleasant and safe atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable and the school adopts a zero<br />

tolerance to it. Bullying is deliberately hurtful behaviour. It is often repeated over a period of time. It is<br />

difficult for those being bullied to defend themselves, either physically, emotionally or verbally. Bullying can<br />

take many forms, but the main types are:<br />

o Physical hitting, kicking or taking belongings;<br />

o Verbal name-calling, insulting, racist remarks;<br />

o Written graffiti or notes;<br />

o Indirect spreading nasty stories about someone, or excluding someone from social groups;<br />

o Passive being present during any of the above and failing to intervene or report;<br />

o Virtual on-line bullying.<br />

Appropriate sanctions will be taken, ranging from<br />

o A formal warning with Tutor present;<br />

o Parental involvement, by phone, letter or interview;<br />

o Suspension;<br />

o Permanent Exclusion from school.<br />

Anybody who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell an adult in school. As a school we have a<br />

responsibility to respond promptly and effectively.<br />

7.3 Sex Education Policy<br />

Sex education at <strong>Laude</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Pedro</strong> <strong>International</strong> College will:<br />

o Prepare our students for life in 21 st century;<br />

o Be delivered by trained staff in an honest and responsible manner;<br />

o Relate biological and physical health aspects with the social, moral and legal issues involved;<br />

o Be delivered on an ongoing basis and adapted to the pupils’ maturity at each stage;<br />

o Be known to our families. Parents may request their son or daughter withdraw from the relevant class or<br />

programme by written request to the Head.<br />

7.4 Drugs and Smoking Policy<br />

<strong>Laude</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Pedro</strong> has a zero tolerance policy for any type of drugs including tobacco, alcohol and illegal<br />

substances on the school campus. The school undertakes to provide drugs education to ensure all students<br />
