James GunnGunn began his filmmaking career with Troma Entertainment, for whom he wrote <strong>and</strong>co-directed Tromeo <strong>and</strong> Juliet. After contributing to several other Troma films, Gunnwrote, produced <strong>and</strong> performed in his own superhero comedy, The Specials. Gunn'sfirst major Hollywood screenplay was Scooby-Doo in 2002. In 2004, he wrote the initialscreenplay for the remake of George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead, but left theproject early to work on Scooby-Doo 2. That same year he also executive produced,<strong>and</strong> appeared in the mockumentary LolliLove.His directorial film debut was Slither, a comedy horror motion picture which bore astrong similarity with the similarly themed horror comedy Night of the Creeps. Gunn'snewest projects include the comedy short film Humanzee! which was originallyintended exclusively for the Xbox Live's Horror Meets Comedy series of short comedy films by horrordirectors, it was replaced with Sparky <strong>and</strong> Mikaela. It was an international success <strong>and</strong> David received a nominated as‘Best Newcomer’ in the London Evening St<strong>and</strong>ard Film Awards. David has also directedthe cinema documentary KM64: Birth of a Skatepark, which tells the story of how one ofthe world’s most extreme skateparks was built in a chilli field in Mexico.
