A modern building was recorded at this location during thecurrent survey. A small stone building was recorded to the south of thesite, eroding into the sea, which may have been the building visible onthe 1st edition OS. A stone wall enclosed the area and may have beenthe remains of the enclosure depicted on the earlier map.18th-20th C Fair Nil An unroofed building with an adjoining enclosure was depicted on the1st edition OS map. A blackhouse with attached outhouse andenclosure was recorded at this location during the current survey. Theblackhouse was stone built and had a corrugated iron roof and appearedto be in use as a store for the adjacent modern house. The enclosurecomprised a denuded stone and turf bank with a modern wire fencecutting through it.6 RUBHA AN AOIL OS 1st ed. NF 91744 80449 Non-designated BUILDING 18th-20th C Poor Monitor An unroofed building was depicted on the 1st edition OS map. A stonebuilding was recorded at this location, to the south of the main road. Itwas possibly a warehouse or boat shed as it had a wide entrance. It wasroofless with walls 0.75m thick and surviving to a height of 2.5mmaximum.7 POLL AN OIR Fieldwalking NF 91754 80694 Non-designated BUILDING 18th-20th C Good Monitor An old stone building was recorded at this location during the currentfield survey. It had a corrugated iron roof and appeared to be in use asa store. An older ruinous building comprising of only the foundationswas recorded immediately to the N of this building. It appeared to havebeen stone built and was part of a chicken enclosure.8 POLL AN OIR Fieldwalking NF 91682 80745 Non-designated FARMSTEAD 18th-20th C Poor Nil A collection of stone buildings with associated enclosure were recordedat this location during the current survey. Two adjoining buildingsseparated into compartments, two of the compartments having moderncorrugated iron roofs and in use as stores. The N building appeared tobe built within the foundations of an older building as the originalfoundations were visible around the base of the more recent building.To the N was a trapezoidal-shaped enclosure c.20m long, c.14m wide atthe S and 9m wide at the N.UISN/1051/0174CFA
