An enclosure and three small rectilinear buildingswere recorded at this location. They are all ruinous though evidentlywere originally stone built. The buildings survive to a maximum heightof 1m and the walls are c.0.5m thick. There is evidence of collapse inseveral areas.18th-20th C Poor Nil A very ruinous, low, turf-covered stone building and associated fieldboundary were recorded at this location. The building is rectilinear inplan and survived to a height of 0.3m. The field boundary consists of alow, denuded turf bank running N-S, lying to the E of the building. Thearea is un-named and was depopulated in the mid-19th century. Visited1965.A township comprising five unroofed buildings is depicted on the 1stedition of the OS 6-inch map and on the current edition of the OS mapwith the addition of an incomplete enclosure. Two buildings wererecorded at this location during the current survey. The first waslocated at NF 84216 74423 and consisted of a stone built rectilinearbuilding surviving to a height of 0.5m and measuring c.20m by 8m.The second, located to the W of the first, is currently completelycovered with heather but survives to a height of 0.3m and measuresc.9m by 7m.171 RUBHA GLAS Fieldwalking NF 84417 74560 Non-designated BUILDING 18th-20th C Poor Nil A ruined stone building c.8m by 6m, was recorded at this location. It iscompletely overgrown with heather and survives to a height of c.0.4m.172 RUBHA GLAS Fieldwalking NF 84443 74552 Non-designated BUILDING 18th-20th C Poor Monitor To the E of Site 171 lies another heavily robbed stone building. Itsurvives to a height of 0.85m in places and measures c.16m by 6m. Itis currently cut by the modern coastal fence.173 RUBHA GLAS Fieldwalking NF 84578 74530 Non-designated BUILDING 18th-20th C Poor Monitor A stone building surviving to a height of c.0.5m, or 3-4 courses, wasrecorded at this location.
