He waseducated at Cornell University (1966-1970), McGill University (1971-1974) andthe University of Paris (1975-1976). He began his career at Statistics Canada,where he remained until 1992. He joined the staff of oecd in 1994, where hewas responsible for education (pisa assessments), labour, and demographystatistics. His interests in the labour market area include part-time work, labourdynamics, labour force participation over the life cycle and measures of labourforce skill. Lemaître joined the international migration area at oecd in 2003,and has since focused on issues related to the integration of immigrants, crossborderservice provision, the management of migration and the harmonisationof migration statistics.Janine Leschke is an Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Politics atCopenhagen Business School. Previously she worked as a Senior Researcher atthe European Trade Union Institute (etui) and as a PhD candidate at the labourmarket policy and employment unit of Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin fürSozialforschung. She holds a PhD in political science from the Free Universityof Berlin. Her research interests encompass eu labour market, social policy andcomparative welfare state analysis.
