been inscribed and signed by Eberhart on the first leaf, to Mrs. <strong>Bullock</strong>. A nice association<br />

printed boards. Some spots to endsheets; neat, contemporary gift inscription, covers a bit<br />

rubbed, with some spine lettering affected, but bright and intact, without the rare dust jacket.<br />

This was the first book <strong>of</strong> Eliot’s poems to be published in the United States. While Gallup<br />

calls it the first U.S. edition <strong>of</strong> Ara Vos Prec, the poems appear in a different order and with<br />

ends <strong>of</strong> the spine, covers somewhat soiled, without glassine jacket. One <strong>of</strong> 85 numbered<br />

copies on handmade paper, signed by Eliot, ten <strong>of</strong> which were not for sale. An important<br />

edition, containing the first appearance <strong>of</strong> Eliot’s famous dedication to Ezra Pound <strong>of</strong> “<strong>The</strong><br />

Waste Land.” Quite scarce. Gallup A8b. $9,500
