Basic undertaking1.1 ScopeCollection and delivery in Sweden is only carried outto those consignors or consignees who state a streetaddress, street number and correct postcode accordingto the www.postnummerservice.se, and on condition thatthe whole of the transport route consists of a negotiableroad. Certain postcodes are served on payment of alocation surcharge. For other Swedish locations, see1.4.1. For locations outside Sweden, in the first instanceaccording to the timetable. The basic undertaking mustnot be limited by local traffic regulations.General terms andconditionsDB Schenker Terms and Conditions of Transport(Sweden) apply as the norm for the calculation offreight and other transport charges in theDB Schenker land transport system. All assignments are performed by DB Schenker according to:• The agreed conditions in each individual case.• Product-specific conditions corresponding toChapter B in this brochure.• General terms corresponding to Chapter A in thisbrochure.• Liability regulations based on the General Conditions.Should deviations arise between the aforementionedregulations, priority shall be given according to the orderspecified above. DB Schenker Terms and Conditions ofTransport include surcharges to, and deviations from, theregulations in the General Conditions. The DB Schenker website www.dbschenker.com/se alwayscontains the most recently updated version of the Termsand Conditions of Transport, sales brochures, location list, location supplements and waybill instructions. If, during the term of an agreement, an adjustment in theGeneral Conditions, DB Schenker’s Location list, Distancetable and/or Terms and Conditions of Transport takesplace, or if a tax or other charge is added, removed orchanged, or if any other general adjustment applicableto the industry is made in the pricing, freight benefits orother increased level of costs that DB Schenker cannotinfluence, DB Schenker reserves the right to make thecorresponding price adjustment.Legal stipulations, including stipulations that entaillimitations on the maximum load that may be carried ona vehicle, can, in certain cases not stated in the Terms andConditions of Transport, necessitate deviations from theTerms and Conditions of Transport. The transport times according to the DB Schenker timetableare estimated and must not be seen as a time assurance.Deviating transport times can occur at locations withseasonal and volume variations and for transportation ofgoods with special features, such as, but not limited to:• Goods, the length and width of which exceed 2.4 m andthe height of which exceeds 2.2 m (domestic) or 2.0 m(international)• Transportation of dangerous goods• Heated transportation• Goods with defective or damaged packaging• Incorrectly or incompletely addressed goods ortransport instructionsExtra transport time will be required for transport thatis to be advised or delivered COD.DB Schenker reserves the right during handling andproduction to prioritise the consignments where allphysical items are marked with an approved standardtransport label (STL) and have correct transportinstructions transferred via EDI/Internet to DB Schenker. The DB Schenker/agreed timetable does not apply to otherconsignments.Unless otherwise agreed separately, DB Schenker isentitled to choose the mode of transport and route and,at its own discretion, send consignments directly or withtransshipment.1.2 Dispatching of goods1.2.1 Packaging of goodsIt is the consignor’s responsibility to package goodsand parcels, taking into consideration the fragility oftheir contents so they can withstand normal transportmovements in the groupage service. Freight calculationThe term consignment refers to goods included in transport instructions from oneor several consignors to one consignee at a certain location and made available fortransport on one occasion. A consignment may not exceed the weight/volume ofthe load capacity of the vehicle. To assess the weight-based freight, the following information must always be statedfor the full consignment in addition to the weight in full kg:– Volume in cubic metres. The value is stated to two decimal places followed by m 3 .– Loading metres. Must be stated for consignments that are difficult to pack and ontop of which other goods cannot be loaded. The value should be stated to onedecimal place followed by FLM.– Pallet space = non-stackable pallet. The value is stated followed by PP.In the case of goods that are difficult to stow, because of the nature of the object orthe packing means that they cannot be packed as normal groupage with other goods ormaximum use cannot be made of the load area, the freight is calculated in such a waythat consideration is given to the load area required by the goods (see weight per flatmetre table next to the heading Goods that are difficult to stow). The term loading metre refers to a metre on the platform with the full width andheight of the load space. The term actual weight or gross weight refer to the weight of the consignment asregistered on the scales, including packing and loading accessories (e.g. pallets). The term bulk weight refers to the consignment volume (length x width x height)expressed in cubic metres to two decimal places, including packing and loadingaccessories (e.g. pallets) multiplied by the weight accordance with the table(see table under the heading Calculating bulky goods) or when calculating loadingmetre, the number of loading metres to one decimal place multiplied by the weightin accordance with the table (Calculating flat metre for bulky goods).Freight calculationBulky goods:Freight calculated according to:Domestic: For a non-stackable pallet, the price iscalculated according to pallet space.International: For a stackable pallet with a height ofless than 1.5 m incl. the pallet, the price is calculatedaccording to volume. The distances are taken from theSwedish Transport Administration distance table. The distances for consignments toand from Gotland are calculated via Nynäshamn or Oskarshamn, whereby 150 km isadded to the distance between the primary locations. Using the position of the primarylocations as a starting point, DB Schenker always attempts to find the shortestroute when calculating the freight for Gotland consignments.Other informationNB: In the tables issued by DB Schenker, the distance between Gotland andNynäs-hamn/Oskarshamn (150 km) is included in the stated distances betweenlocations on the mainland and Gotland. KAPITEL C. Combiterms 2000Incoterms 2010Combiterms 2010 – Land transportIn the case of cross-border transport assignments DB Schenker makes use of of theCombiterms 2011 rules.Combiterms were first published in 1969 and with thisversion they have been updated four times. This takesplace each time in association with the correspondingrevision of Incoterms, which are the interpretation rulesfor the International Chamber of Commerce for the moreimportant delivery clauses in world trade.Combiterms, which do not compete with Incoterms, are anaid when translating the legal text Incoterms into a costdivision between seller and buyer. In a simple and easily understandable way Combitermsshows the costs which arise in conjunction with crossbordertransport. Examples of such costs are collection, storage, loading, unloading and distribution. Other examplesare customs, taxes and charges as well as the CIPinsurance costs clause.Particularly in conjunction with the transport of groupage, costs arise which could be difficult to divide betweenvendor and purchaser. Combiterms solve this by combiningthe terms of trade with an easily understandable systemfor dividing costs between the parties. The risk of interpretationproblems is reduced. To further avoid different interpretations DB Schenker hasemployed the practice of agreeing with the customer onthe application of a cost division before the transportassignment is performed.Under the heading ‘Remarks’ points 1-2, there is clarificationof the interpretation of ‘terminal’ in the exportcountry and the import country, freight paid and excludingcosts.www.dbschenker.com/seOn the DB Schenker website you can find PDF files withCombiterms 2011 – Land transport, which are applied byDB Schenker. For further information you are always welcome tocontact your nearest DB Schenker office.26
