Hosts <strong>Marian</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Golf TournamentFor 14 years, Lexus of Omaha has partnered with <strong>Marian</strong> <strong>to</strong> host the Lexus of OmahaChampions for <strong>Marian</strong> Golf Tournament, and for 14 years, Tal Anderson has been the<strong>to</strong>urnament sponsor. On July 13, 2009 the <strong>Marian</strong> community had the honor of spending onelast <strong>to</strong>urnament in the company of Tal Anderson, who died in August 2009. Words cannotconvey how grateful <strong>Marian</strong> is for the unwavering support Tal Anderson and his family havegiven <strong>Marian</strong>.As always, the Lexus Champions for <strong>Marian</strong> Golf Tournament was a great day of golf. With152 golfers, the day began with a shotgun start at 12:30 and culminated with a dinner,sponsored by Tal Anderson, a brief program and oral auction. Bill Gerber, <strong>Marian</strong> dad, madethe highest bid in the <strong>to</strong>urnament auction. With his winning bid, Gerber and a guest attendedthe 2009 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links,The Links at Spanish Bay and the Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach California inDecember.Since 1996 <strong>Marian</strong> has maintained a consecutive partnership with Lexus of Omaha, theofficial sponsor of the Champions for <strong>Marian</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Golf Tournament, which hasgrossed more than $700,000 for <strong>Marian</strong>. The <strong>to</strong>urnament is a benefit for <strong>Marian</strong> and is part ofthe Lexus Champions for Charity, a unique series of 200 charity golf <strong>to</strong>urnaments throughoutthe United States.This year’s <strong>to</strong>urnament grossed more than $55,000 for <strong>Marian</strong>. Current <strong>Marian</strong> parents,Tom O’Brien and Bob Rossiter, co-chaired the <strong>to</strong>urnament.
