Hosts Marian High School Golf TournamentFor 14 years, Lexus of Omaha has partnered with Marian to host the Lexus of OmahaChampions for Marian Golf Tournament, and for 14 years, Tal Anderson has been thetournament sponsor. On July 13, 2009 the Marian community had the honor of spending onelast tournament in the company of Tal Anderson, who died in August 2009. Words cannotconvey how grateful Marian is for the unwavering support Tal Anderson and his family havegiven Marian.As always, the Lexus Champions for Marian Golf Tournament was a great day of golf. With152 golfers, the day began with a shotgun start at 12:30 and culminated with a dinner,sponsored by Tal Anderson, a brief program and oral auction. Bill Gerber, Marian dad, madethe highest bid in the tournament auction. With his winning bid, Gerber and a guest attendedthe 2009 Lexus Champions for Charity National Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links,The Links at Spanish Bay and the Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach California inDecember.Since 1996 Marian has maintained a consecutive partnership with Lexus of Omaha, theofficial sponsor of the Champions for Marian High School Golf Tournament, which hasgrossed more than $700,000 for Marian. The tournament is a benefit for Marian and is part ofthe Lexus Champions for Charity, a unique series of 200 charity golf tournaments throughoutthe United States.This year’s tournament grossed more than $55,000 for Marian. Current Marian parents,Tom O’Brien and Bob Rossiter, co-chaired the tournament.
