June 1, 2009 - May 31, 2010Marian’s 2009-2010 annual fundraising program was the most successful in Marian history.Through the dedication of more than 2,400 benefactors—parents, alumnae, parents ofalumnae, faculty, staff and all members of the Marian community— Marian raised $461,347 incharitable gifts, the most in Marian’s history.This year’s contributions were an 11% increase over the previous year and a 3% increaseover the total goal. Marian’s Board of Directors, parents, alumnae, and parents of alums allexceeded their goals. Marian is incredibly grateful to our benefactors, who year after yearaccept the challenge and answer the call to generously support Marian.This year also brought new donors and new incentives to The Marian Fund. Three hundrednew donors shared their treasure, raising the total donor number to 2,456. In addition,an anonymous donor created the Alumnae Leadership Challenge Grant. The goal of theLeadership Challenge was to increase the number of alumnae in St. Katharine Drexel GivingCircle ($1,000 to $2,499) or higher. The challenge grant matched any new or increased giftmade by an alumna of $1,000 or more. Twenty-two Marian alumnae joined the St. KatharineDrexel giving circle by increasing their gift to $1,000 or more, resulting in an incredible$44,000 raised through the Alumnae Leadership Challenge Grant alone.The importance of Marian’s annual giving program, The Marian Fund, is unparalleled. Dollarsraised for this program fund tuition assistance for nearly half of Marian’s students, makingthe Marian education possible for any young woman. In fact, The Marian Fund underwritesall aspects of a Marian education. Marian’s Giving Circle Program began seven years ago. Eight amazing women of the Churchwere chosen to represent each different giving level. Just as Marian empowers girls to succeed as confident, independent, thinking leaders, thewomen of Marian’s Giving Circles are examples of leadership in their own rite. They devoted their lives to their faith, the betterment of theircommunities and improving the lives of others.
