CHAPTER 2 - DIRECTIONS FOR USECharging the BatteryTo charge the battery, insert the plug from the<strong>EnteraLite</strong> ® AC Adapter/Charger into the matchingjack on the pump marked "CHARGER".Plug the charger into a wall outlet rated at:105 to 129 VAC, 60 Hz, 0.22AWhen using the international charger, plug thepower cord into a wall outlet rated at:100 to 250 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 0.39AThe pump can continue to operate while chargingthe battery or charge when the pump isturned off.The <strong>EnteraLite</strong> ® AC Adapter/Charger may be leftcontinuously connected to the wall outlet. Thebattery charging circuit stops automaticallywhen the battery is fully charged.When the charger is plugged in and charging,the plug symbol will appear in the display asshown in Figure 2-14a. The "fuel gauge" thenindicates that the battery is charging by displayingthe segments in an ascending low to highpattern starting with the leftmost segment. Thispattern continuously repeats while the pump ischarging. Refer to Figures 2-14a through 2-14e.To check the status of the battery, disconnectthe charger from the pump and then turn thepump on.See Chapter 2 - Running on Battery Power forinformation on battery life and charge times.WARNING: When simultaneouslycharging and operating the pump,position the pump to avoid directcontact with the patient's skin.Figure 2-14: “Fuel Gauge” DisplaysAscending Low to High PatternWhile Charging(Place the pump on a table top, inan <strong>EnteraLite</strong> ® pack, or secure thepump to an appropriate fixtureusing a pole clamp).14
