CHAPTER 7 - DISPOSABLE SETS and ACCESSORIESWARNING: Replace the disposable set every 24 hours to maintain deliveryaccuracy and prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.WARNING: Use only EnteraLite ® Disposable Sets to ensure proper fluiddelivery. Others won't deliver the correct dose, may allow dangerous freeflowconditions, and may generate hazardous fluid pressures which mayactivate occlusions alarms at unpredictable pressures.CAUTION: Dispose of EnteraLite ® Disposable Sets properly, as required bylocal law.The disposable set consists of several parts, as illustrated in Figure 7-1.The bag is filled with the enteral solution. The spike is used to pierce pre-filled containers. The pump fitting holds the silicone tubing in place in the pump. The silicone tubing passes through the air sensor and around the pump wheel, passingover pressure sensors on either side of the pump wheel. The pinch clip occluder blocks solution flow when the set is out of the pump or whenthe pump door is open. The stepped enteral adapter connects to most common patient feeding tubes, but isnot I.V. compatible. The Enteral Adapter Protective Cover contains a feature which is used to hold thePinch Clip Occluder open while the set remains packaged, to avoid kinking of the siliconetubing. The only disposable sets approved for use with this pump are:EnteraLite ® 500 ml Bag Set, Order Number EL0500EnteraLite ® 1200 ml Bag Set, Order Number EL1200EnteraLite ® Spike Set, Order Number EL001023
