5.1 Security<br />
On your enlistment day, you will be briefed on the security precautions and asked<br />
to make a statutory declaration on security. Henceforth, you must not divulge any<br />
information concerning Police matters to the media or any unauthorized personnel.<br />
A punishable offence under Section 17 of the Offi cial Secrets Act (Chapter 213)<br />
would be committed if a person has in his possession any secret offi cial information:<br />
• Communicates directly or indirectly any such information to any<br />
unauthorized persons<br />
• Uses any information in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest<br />
of Singapore<br />
• Fails to take reasonable care to safeguard the confi dentiality of such information<br />
